An astronomical journey

from Luxembourg City to Sibiu in Romania

(european cultural capitals 2007)

In the year 2007 the two cities Luxembourg City and Sibiu (Hermannstadt) in Romania were european cultural capitals.

One this basis, brilliante projects were initiated.

On december 8. 2007, the offical final ceremony took place.

In order to keep the connections, cross-border activities will also take place in the following years.

Our project „Stars above Europa“ does even one further step.

It offers a virtual journey from Luxembourg across Germany, Austria und Hungary to Sibiu in Romania.

It introduces astronomical highlights across the connecting line of the cultural capitals.

Side trips lead near by to sightseeings a bit aside the central line.

Travel about 1400 km across Europa with us and visit astronomical highlights: Observatories, planetaries, planet routes und astronomy parks.

Be surprised of the work of astronomical institutes an associations, museums, puplishing houses, astronomical groups at schools, amateur astronomers, ….

You see, astronomy has no limits. Astronomy connects.

We have only one sky. Let us explore it!
